An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Maintenance Technician to join Malta Marriott Resort & Spa. 

We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep of hotel facilities, guest rooms, and public areas. The role involves carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for guests and staff.

Strong knowledge of plastering and painting is essential, while experience in tile laying will be considered an asset.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:

• Assist with routine maintenance, repairs and inspections of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces. 

• Carry out plastering and painting works to maintain high presentation standards across the property. 

• Support basic tiling repairs and installations where required (tile laying experience is an asset). 

• Assist with general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC and carpentry as needed. 

• Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards or structural issues promptly. 

• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and organized condition. 

• Follow all health, safety and security procedures at all times. 

• Assist with emergency maintenance situations when required. 

• Coordinate with other departments to minimize disruption to guests and ensure a high level of service and professionalism. 

• Adhere to grooming standards, company policies and perform any other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a hotel or similar environment. 

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in plastering and painting. 

• Basic experience in tile laying and repairs will be considered an asset. 

• General maintenance skills including basic plumbing, electrical or carpentry are beneficial. 

• Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

• Good communication skills and a professional, service-oriented attitude. 

• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays if required. 

• Basic knowledge of health and safety standards.
