An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Events Executive within the Sales Department of the Malta Marriott Resort &amp; Spa, part of Marriott International and one of Malta’s leading 5-Star hotels.
Working within the Sales team, the Events Executive assists the Events team in maximizing catering and banqueting revenues for the hotel, through proactively uncovering new prospects/ accounts and maximizing conversion of business in line with the Hotels’ budgetary goals.
The Events Executive must demonstrate high energy levels &amp; provide consistently high levels of customer service, in accordance with Marriott Standards &amp; Programmes.
Essential Functions: &nbsp;&nbsp;

<li>Representing Marriott Hotels worldwide, promoting the quality image of the company at every opportunity and uncovering additional leads for the Malta Marriott Resort &amp; Spa.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Develop &amp; maintain strong relations with clients and DMC’s of Malta Marriott Resort &amp; Spa.</li>
<li>Representing the Malta Marriott Resort &amp; Spa, promoting the company at every opportunity and uncovering additional leads for the hotel.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Answering calls professionally and getting back to clients in a timely manner.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Proactively prospecting new accounts to maximise catering and banqueting revenue for the hotel.</li>
<li>Maintain an effective filing system for the events department, including a daily trace file, to ensure all deadlines are met.</li>
<li>To ensure knowledge and understanding of Opera Sales &amp; Catering &amp; PMS systems in order to be competent in issuing Banquet Event orders in detail and running various reports.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Work closely with the entire hotel teams and departments to ensure smooth operation of all group and event activities within the hotel</li>

Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>Candidate must exhibit strong personal confidence and good presentation skills, organised and meeting deadlines, willingness to learn continuously, having a structured approach to planning, being a team player and able to work independently and under pressure;</li>
<li>Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong command of English.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Good understanding of Opera PMS &amp; Sales and Catering.</li>
<li>Diploma or higher in Business management or similar related field would be considered an asset.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Previous experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel would be considered an asset&nbsp;</li>
