An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Shift Technician within the Maintenance Department of the Malta Marriott Resort & Spa, part of Marriott International and one of Malta’s leading 5-star hotels.
Working within the Engineering Department, the Maintenance Shift Technician is responsible for carrying out day-to-day maintenance activities during assigned shifts to support the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of the hotel. This role ensures that all facilities, equipment and systems are maintained to required standards across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces.
The Maintenance Shift Technician must demonstrate strong technical skills, a proactive attitude and a commitment to service excellence, responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies while supporting guest satisfaction and operational continuity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Respond promptly to maintenance calls and work orders during assigned shifts.
• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on hotel facilities and equipment.
• Carry out repairs related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance as required.
• Monitor and record the condition and performance of equipment and systems during the shift.
• Report major faults, safety hazards, or operational issues to the Maintenance Manager or incoming shift.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, safe, and organized.
• Assist in emergency situations, including power failures, water leaks, or equipment breakdowns.
• Coordinate with other departments to minimize guest inconvenience during maintenance activities.
• Follow all health, safety, and fire procedures at all times.
• Complete shift handover reports and maintenance logs accurately.
• Abide by the policies and procedures as set out in the Associate Handbook and any other applicable policies.
