An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Gym Instructor to join Malta Marriott Resort & Spa. 

The gym instructor will be responsible for the general supervision and customer service of the fitness center. This position will be responsible for monitoring the proper use of fitness equipment to ensure machines are being used properly, maintaining the cleanliness of the fitness center, and keep all equipment, machines, and spaces to look their best at all times. The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal communications skills for interacting with guests and the ability to operate a variety of fitness-related equipment. Part of the role would also including the manning of the reception desk including cashiering duties.

Essential functions:

• Responsible in promoting the Fitness area to maximize profitability;
• To design fitness programmes for both membership clients and hotel guests.;
• Responsible for the administration of goods, requisition inventories and cost;
• To ensure the guests are kept informed of all Fitness and Spa activities and developments;
• Day to day responsibility for equipment, cleanliness and hygiene of the premises;
• To maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene;
• Ensure that all gym equipment is regularly cleaned, maintained and stored correctly;
• Assist the Gym Manager in the marketing plan and its activities and be responsible for the promotion of the plan;
• To constantly be aware of innovations within the industry;
• Responsible for all stock control within the Fitness Area;
• To deal with all problems, enquiries and complaints from Fitness and Spa clientele;
• To attend several meeting as required;
• Ensure that the Health and Safety Policy and procedures are adhered to, in particular with relation to cleanliness and hygiene;
• To be aware of the treatments and services offered, and any promotions that may be on offer at the time;
• Responsible for maintaining the high standard of service within the Fitness and Spa area;
• To retain a high standard of work ethic in line with company policies.

Requirements:

• Level 2 Gym Instructor qualifications; 
• Has 1 year of experience within a similar role; 
• Excellent customer service; 
• Good level of written and spoken English (other languages are considered as an asset); 
• Have knowledge of gym equipment & able to provide fitness programmes; 
• Be flexible with the working hours and be able to work weekends and holidays.
