Overview

The Malta Marriott Resort & Spa is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Purchasing / Cost Control Coordinator to join our Finance team. This position plays a key role in supporting the Cost Controller and Purchasing Manager with day-to-day operations related to purchasing, stores management, and cost control.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and adjust PAR stock levels based on consumption trends, hotel occupancy, and upcoming events.
  • Process complimentary chits and report any discrepancies to the Cost Controller.
  • Participate in stocktake procedures, including data entry into the Materials Control system.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and costing exercises.
  • Conduct inventory checks throughout the hotel property.
  • Update supplier quotes in the Materials Control database.
  • Issue daily purchase orders (e.g. bread, dairy, fruit & vegetables) and submit them for review before sending to suppliers.
  • Handle purchasing reconciliation between Materials Control and Shireburn (Financial Database).
  • Input Goods Received Notes (GRNs) into the MC system.

Supportive Functions:

  • Provide assistance to the Cost Controller and Purchasing Manager as required.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with F&B outlet managers and supervisors.
  • Liaise effectively with other departments as needed.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in stock keeping, purchasing, or cost control will be considered an asset.

  • Proficient in written and spoken English.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work efficiently with deadlines.

Education and Experience
  • Secondary education level required.
