Overview

At Malta Marriott Resort & Spa we are looking for a Commis Chef who will be responsible to Ensure consistent food production that meets the high quality brand standards expected by the Company, ensure food production and delivery is done in a timely manner and avoid wastage in food production, provide support our kitchen Department .

Main Responsibilities:

•Prepare and garnish food orders promptly and accurately, following established recipes and presentation standards.

•Cook sauces, soups, and hot dishes to Marriott’s quality standards.

•Set up the kitchen for lunch and dinner service as instructed by the Chef de Partie.

•Maintain high standards in food preparation, portioning, and plate presentation.

•Organize and maintain mis-en-place for your assigned station.

•Ensure timely, high-quality preparation and service of dishes within your section.

•Assist with breakfast buffet setup and replenish items during service.

•Collaborate with senior chefs to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.

•Properly store unused food and communicate with the Chef de Partie regarding next steps.

•Ensure punctual delivery of dishes, seeking support when needed.

•Follow SOPs to ensure consistency in preparation, cooking, and presentation.

•Support and mentor Kitchen Stewards and Trainees as required.

•Proactively suggest improvements to kitchen operations, including systems, methods, or equipment.

Requirements:

•Culinary studies or vocational training in food preparation preferred.

•Alternatively, a minimum of 1 years of relevant culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant environment.

•Holder of a Food Handling B License.

•Ability to speak, read, and write in English.

•Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
