Overview

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chef de Partie to join our culinary team at Malta Marriot Resort and Spa. As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation and Cooking:

  • Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all food is cooked and presented to high standards.

Station Management:

  • Manage a specific section of the kitchen, keeping it organized and well-stocked.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor the quality of dishes before they are sent out to guests.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in menu planning and development as required.

Hygiene and Safety:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within your station.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.

Training and Supervision:

  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff and apprentices assigned to your section.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to ensure continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Education:

Diploma or degree from a recognized culinary school or culinary arts program.

Experience:

minimum 2 years of experience working in a professional kitchen.

Specialized experience in a specific kitchen section (e.g., grill, sauté, pastry).

 

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Certifications:

  • Food safety and hygiene certifications
